From east to west, stretched out like pearls on a string: Austvågøy, Gimsøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøy, Moskenesøy and the two farthest out to sea Værøy and Røst.
The Islands of the Lofoten, 170 kilometers above the arctic circle, known for a distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, tiny picturesque fishing villages, sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands.
This was one of the most beautiful Northern lights show I’ve seen! It was mesmerizing! Didn’t even check the time-lapse I was taking at the time, not even once, I just stood there looking at it dancing. At one point it goes so crazy and bright, it lit up the whole ground! It was amazing
Fish Anyone?! 🙂
Stockfish drying in a traditional method on racks in the Lofoten Islands.
Once dried, the arctic cod fillets are then exported to the world!
This is one of my favorite shots from Lofoten. Hamnøy is truly a beautiful place! Had a bit of luck that night it didn’t rain much nor snowed. I’ve stayed there for hours, you can never get enough of the view!
Sadly I was staying in Reine so I had to walk back there at some point, but I really enjoyed that night and I hope I was able to capture the beauty of this tiny village for you the way I saw it through my lens.
A night shot of Ramberg, a village on the island of Flakstadøya in the Lofoten archipelago. The village is also the administrative centre of Flakstad municipality with approximately 350 inhabitants.
The weather in Lofoten changes often and very quickly, one minute it’s sunny with blue sky the other minute you’ll be in the middle of a snow storm! This is one of those moments, I took this shot on my way back from Hamnøy
One of the things I loved in Lofoten is that you have no idea what might happen the next minute, the sun could be shining with blue sky! Or you might turn around and have this happening behind you! 🙂
So I was at this restaurant eating and I look outside the window and I see this storm coming my way! I barely got few bites, payed the waiter and rushed outside with all my gear as fast as I can to find a place where I can shoot this! Glad I was able to capture it. I also made a time-lapse 🙂
A beautiful blue hour in Ramberg, shame couldn’t hike Moltinden mountain! I can only imagine that view from the top!
